Purpose of the association (Short version acc. to § 2 of the statutes): The association, whose activity is not directed towards profit, pursues exclusively and directly non-profit purposes in the area of science, research, technological development and education within the meaning of §§ 34–47 BAO. The focus lies on researching decentralised, self-sufficient energy systems as well as intelligent, resilient network technologies.
Fundamental direction of the medium (Editorial line): This website serves to provide information about the non-profit research and development activities of the association, the promotion of the association’s purpose as well as the provision of legally protected specialist information for authorised members, partners and investors.

The protection of your personal data is not only a legal obligation for us, but a central concern as a technology association. Below we transparently inform you in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) as well as the Telecommunications Act (TKG 2021) about which data we collect, how we use it and what rights you are entitled to.

2. Collection and processing of personal data
We process your personal data only insofar as this is necessary to provide a functioning website, our contents and services, for association administration as well as for the handling of our research projects and events.
- 2.1. Provision of the website and creation of log files: With every visit, our system automatically records data (browser, operating system, IP address). Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Storage duration: usually after 7 to 14 days.
- 2.2. Contact & NDA process: If you contact us or use the media library application form, your data will be processed to handle the enquiry and for the automated creation of the NDA (e.g. via DocuSign/Adobe Sign). Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b or f GDPR.
- 2.3. Data processing within the scope of association membership: To fulfil our association purposes, we collect master data, contact data and, if applicable, bank data. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR and VerG (Austrian Association Act). Storage duration: Until leaving the association plus statutory deadlines (generally 7 years acc. to § 132 BAO).

3. Use of cookies
Our website uses exclusively cookies that are absolutely necessary for the secure and error-free operation of the website (e.g. session cookies). Legal basis: § 165 para. 3 TKG 2021. Since we completely dispense with tracking, analysis and advertising tools, no evaluation of your user behaviour takes place. An explicit cookie consent is not required.
